New York, NY – In the second game of a non-conference doubleheader, the New York University men's basketball team road a second half surge behind the play of sophomore forward
Keith Jensen (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) who scored all 14 points points in the second to upend the Hawks of Hunter College 82-73 Monday evening at the Hunter Sportsplex.
Senior guard
Marlon Smith (Bronx, NY/Archbishop Molloy) registered a team high 21 points, shooting 6-of-6 from the free-throw line, while junior forward
Joseph DeLuca (Maspeth, NY/Christ the King) added 20 points of his own.
The Violets were led offensively by senior guard
Charlie Parker (Brooklyn, NY/Poly Prep) who scored 22 points and shot a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. Also finishing in double-digits for NYU were Jensen and freshman forward
Richie Polak (Tarzana, CA/The Buckley School) who tallied 13 points and nine rebounds.
Hunter now drops their third straight game to fall to 6-8 on the year, but will look to rebound on Wednesday, when they play host to Medgar Evers College for a CUNY Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Men are set to tip off at 7:00 p.m. from the Hunter Sportsplex in New York, NY.
