New York, NY – The New York University women's basketball team entered tonight's game as the #4 ranked team in the nation with a perfect 11-0 record and they would add one more game to that win streak as they defeat the Hawks of Hunter College 54-36 in a non-conference matchup Monday evening at the Hunter Sportsplex in New York, NY.
Sophomore guard
Shay Branch-El-Vielot (Cambria Heights, NY/Canarsie) led the Hawks with 15 points, shooting 5-of-8 from the field and 4-of-8 from the free-throw line, while sophomore forward
Andrea Buckham (Jamaica, NY/Flushing) pitched in 13 points and seven rebounds.
The Violets got a strong game out of junior forward
Jessica McEntee (Flushing, NY/Archbishop Molloy) who finished with 17 points, eight rebounds, four steals and shot 7-of-9 from the charity stripe. Freshman guard
Bianca Storts (Poughkeepsie, NY/Poughkeepsie) was the only other Violet to finish in double-figures, scoring 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
