Wilkes-Barre, PA – The Hunter wrestling picked up their first win of the day, defeating the Yellow Jackets of Baldwin-Wallace University 26-18 in their second dual match on Thursday afternoon at the John Reese Duals hosted by Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Senior 125 pounder Evan Velez (Bronx, NY/Lehman) earned his fourth straight win (4-2) by pinning freshman Tyler Ewin (Granville, OH/Watkins Memorial) 1:59 into the bout. At 149 pounds, sophomore Shabazz Bailey (Walden, NY/Valley Central) picked up his first win of the season on a 6-4 decision against Rayshawn Eatmon (East Cleveland, OH/Shaw), this was Bailey's first dual match action of the season.

Sophomore Andre DeCristo (Queens, NY/Long Island City) continued his win streak with a major decision at 174 pounds, defeating Yellow Jacket senior Jeremy Feador (North Olmsted, OH) 10-0. Senior Brian Scher (Levittowm NY/Macarthur) and sophomore Ben Bonaventura (Hauppauge, NY/Hauppauge) each picked up wins at 197 and heavyweight to seal to victory for the Hawks.

Hunter now improves to 2-4 on the season in dual matches and is scheduled to face Oneonta State in the final match of the day.
