New York, NY – The Hunter women's volleyball team extended their win streak on Tuesday, defeating Lehman College in three sets (25-14, 25-14, 25-15) led by the play of senior opposite
Amanda Kamm (Dix Hills, NY/Hills West) who hit a match high 12 kills with a .435 hitting percentage, four assist and three serving aces to improve the Hawks to 5-0 on the season.
Sophomore middle blocker
Tracey Igwe (Bronx, NY/DeWitt Clinton) had a break out game, finishing with six kills and three solo blocks. Senior outside hitter
Olga Petrenko (Bronx, NY/Environmental Studies) added six kills of her own and four digs.
Sophomore outside hitter
Rachel SantaOlalla (Ventura, CA/Ventura) rounded things out for the Hawks with five kills and a team high ten digs, while sophomore setter
Stephanie Broome (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) tallied 24 assists and seven digs.
Lehman outside hitter
Gerri-Ann Martin (Bronx, NY/JFK) finished with a team high six kills. Sophomore outside hitter Jillian Acevedo (Bronx, NY/Lehman) also contributed for the Lightning with a match high 15 digs.
Tonight's victory extends the team's CUNYAC unbeaten streak to 26 consecutive matches, a run that now spans four seasons. The team return to action on Friday, when they travel to Newark, NJ to face the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers University at Newark for a 7:00 p.m. match.
