Hawks Dominate Doubles In 7-2 Win

Wayne, NJ – The tandem of junior Evgeniya Kim (Flushing, NY/Cardozo) and sophomore Elizabeth Feldman (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) improved their all-time doubles record to 15-2 with an 8-0 victory that would eventually lead to a 7-2 Hunter win over William Paterson University Friday night in Wayne, NJ.

All three Hawks doubles teams picked up wins, an area the team has struggled with earlier in the season. The duo of senior Monica Calungcagin (Valley Cottage, NY/Nyack) and junior Linda Ravul (Little Neck, NY/St. Mary's) took second doubles 8-2. The new pairing of junior Alyssa Wheeler (New York, NY/Franklin Lane) and freshman Chrstine Marino (Slate Hill, NY/Minisink Valley) improved to 1-1 on the year with an 8-6 win at third doubles.

Kim, Calungcagin, Feldman and freshman Stefanie Smith (Little Neck, NY/Cardozo) picked up wins at first, second, third and fourth singles respectively. The Pioneers earned points for their victory at fifth and sixth singles.

The Hawks now stand at 3-2 on the season and will return to the courts on Saturday, when they host Moravian College in a rescheduled match from last week. That match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. and will be played on Roosevelt Island.
