Box Score
New York, NY – Freshman forward
Mark Wnukowski (Glendale, NY/Archbishop Molloy) had a season high ten points on four-of-six shooting, but the rough stretch continues for the Hawks as they fall to Brooklyn College who are now 6-0 in CUNY Athletic Conference following an 80-60 victory Friday night at the Hunter Sportsplex.
The Hawks, who trailed by ten points after the first half, made a run in the second half, cutting to the lead to just a basket, 51-49 with 11:48 left on the block. However, they seemed to have lost their way as Brooklyn went on a 25-0 run that spanned eight minutes to take complete control of the game.
Despite scoring just six points in 11 minutes of action in the first half, junior forward Richard Jean-Baptiste (Queens, NY/St. John's Prep) finished with a team high 18 points and four steals. Freshman guard Amil John (Brooklyn, NY/South Shore) also had a big game, scoring 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting and pulling down a team high seven rebounds.
Hunter was led in scoring by senior forward
Frantz Millien (Rockland, NY/North Rockland) who finished with 13 points and eight rebounds, while senior forward
Maka Thomas (Queens Village, NY/Martin Van Buren) added ten points of his own and six rebounds.
Hunter will return to action on Monday, when they face New York University for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference game on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
