Late Rally Cut Short, Hawk Fall To Cardinals, 75-73

Jamaica, NY – Senior guard Nicholas Flagg (Queens, NY/Cardozo) scored a Hawk career high 23 points, but a late rally gets cut short and the Hawks fall to York College, 75-73 in CUNY Athletic Conference men's basketball action Wednesday night in Jamaica, NY.

York, who led the entire game, opened a door for the Hawks in the second half, who were able to come from behind and tie things up with 42 seconds left in the game. However, they wouldn't be able to capitalize on this opportunity and drop their ninth straight game.

Senior forward Frantz Millien (Rockland, NY/North Rockland) was able to break out of his scoring slump, putting up 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds, while freshman guard Mark Courtien (Pelham, NY/Pelham Memorial) continues to excel, this time scoring 12 points in 26 minutes off the bench.

Sophomore forward Omari Phipps (Laurelton,NY/St. Johns Prep) led the Cardinals with 18 points, shooting a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Junior guard Nicholas Hamilton-Lopez (Middle Village, NY) also contributed to York's win with 17 points.

The Hawks will remain on the road as they head to Staten Island on Saturday for their only meeting with the Dolphins this season. Tip-off is set for 2:30 p.m.
