New York, NY – Senior forward
Joseph DeLuca (Maspeth, NY/Christ the King) scored a game high 22 points, but his efforts wouldn't be enough to break the team's recent losing streak as the Hawks drop their fifth straight game to the Lightning of Lehman College, 81-65 in a CUNY Athletic Conference men's basketball game Friday night at the Hunter Sportsplex.
The Lightning had four out of five starters finish in double figures, led by freshman forward Jonathan DeJesus (Bronx, NY/Mt. St. Michael) who shot a perfect 6-for-6 from the field to finish with 16 points, while senior center Alen Redzic (Bronx, NY/JFK) had the game's only double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Senior forward
Frantz Millien (Rockland, NY/North Rockland) was the only other Hawk to score more than eight, finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds in 23 minutes on the court. Making his first start of the season, freshman guard
Mark Courtien (Pelham, NY/Pelham Memorial) had a eight points in 19 minutes of action.
Hunter, now 4-8 on the season, will return to action on Monday, when they will travel to Pomona, NJ for a non-conference game with Richard Stockton at 4:00 p.m.
