New York, NY – Competing in the final CUNY Athletic Conference Multi-Match of the season, the Hawks were shut down by the City College of New York who earned a 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-17) victory on Monday morning at the Sportsplex.
The victory improves CCNY to 16-7 on the year and they claim the top spot in the conference with a 6-0 record, while Hunter falls to 13-10 and 5-1 in the CUNYAC.

Tracey Igwe (Bronx, NY/DeWitt Clinton) and freshman middle blocker
Mallory Grubler (Bayside, NY/Cardozo) led the Hawks with seven kills each, while freshman libero
Kim Hirten (Lindenhurst, NY/St. John The Baptist Diocesan) had 12 digs and sophomore setter
Katina Boutis (Pilot Mountain, NC/Salem Academy) tallied 22 assists.
For the Beavers, senior Floriana Garo had a match high 15 kills and Melissa Blass added 13 kills while hitting a match high .407. CCNY Setter Jasmine Bermudez finished with a double-double with 36 assists and 17 digs.
The Hawks will close out the day with a match against Medgar Evers, while the Beavers will face York College, both matches will be at 1:00 p.m.
