Rubino Nets 21 in Victory

New York, NY – After trailing for most of the second half, Hunter guard Rocco Rubino (Brooklyn, NY/Archbishop Molloy) took control of the game late in the second half and would go on to score a game high 21 points as Hunter improves to 3-3 on the year with a 76-63 win over The City College of New York Friday night in a CUNY Athletic Conference men's basketball game held at the Hunter Sportsplex.

Freshman guard Eric Klingsberg (Queens, NY/Holy Cross) played a huge role in tonight's victory, scoring 17 points along with four steals off the bench. Junior guard Maxwell Dubois (Hollywood, FL/Dillard) also contributed to the win with 13 points and a game high six steals.

The Beavers were led by junior guard Xavier Gonzalez who scored 13 points, followed by freshmen Israel Vickers and Sean Henry who each finished with 11 points.

The Hawks played a strong defensive game, forcing 29 turnovers that resulted in 23 points.

The Hawks will be back home on Monday, when they host FDU-Florham for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference game at the Sportsplex.
