Hawks Grounded By Lightning

Bronx, NY – Senior guard Nicholas Flagg (Queens, NY/Cardozo) scored led the Hawks with 16 points, but his efforts wouldn't be enough as the Hawks fall to Lehman College with a 79-65 who won the season series as well in CUNY Athletic Conference men's basketball action Saturday in front of a crowd that included New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg at the APEX in the Bronx, NY.

After trailing by as much as 16 points in the first half, the Hawks were able to cut the lead to just five heading into the intermission. However, Lehman would score the first couple of baskets of the second half to run up a double-digit lead that they would never relinquish.

Freshman guard Mark Courtien (Pelham, NY/Pelham Memorial) was impressive once again for the Hawks, scoring 14 points, while senior forward Frantz Millien (Rockland, NY/North Rockland) finished with ten points and five rebounds.

The Lightning were led by senior center Alen Redzic (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy) and freshman forward Jonathan DeJesus (Bronx, NY/Mt. St. Michael) who each scored 20 points, while pulling down 12 rebounds.

Hunter will be back in action on Wednesday, when they travel uptown to face The City College of New York for a 7:00 p.m. conference game.
