Koguc & Luebcke Lead Hawks Past John Jay

New York, NY – Senior outside hitter Karolina Koguc (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht) recorded a match high 10 kills and sophomore outside hitter Christine Luebcke (Jackson Heights, NY/Cardozo) hit .400 with nine kills and nine digs to help lead the Hawks to a 3-0 (25-6, 25-9, 25-13) victory over John Jay College in a CUNY Athletic Conference women's volleyball match Tuesday night at the Hunter Sportsplex.

Sophomore middle blocker Mallory Grubler (Bayside, NY/Cardozo) chipped in five kills, hitting .455 for Hunter, while setter Katina Boutis (Pilot Mountain, NC/Salem Academy) had a double-double with 26 assist and ten digs

Bloodhound sophomore outside hitter Jessica Davies (Brawley, CA/Indio) hit a team high four kills, followed by senior outside hitter Andrea Medina with three kills, and junior setter Erica Lee (New York, NY/Seward Pak) compiled ten assists and seven digs.

Hunter now improves their season mark to 9-6 and are 4-0 in conference play, while the Bloodhounds drop to 2-7 overall and 1-3 in the CUNYAC. Hunter will be back in action on Friday, when they host the Valiants of Mahattanville College who will enter the Sportsplex with a 3-4 record.
