Hawks Sink Dolphins. 60-35

New York, NY – After snapping a four-meet losing streak on Monday, the Hunter women's swimming team continued its winning ways on Wednesday night, defeating the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island 60-35 in a CUNY Athletic Conference meet at Hunter's North Pool.

Senior Heather Alvord (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) led the way for the Hawks with wins in the 200-yard IM [2:26.88]. the 100-yard backstroke [1:04.61], and also was the anchor of the 200-yard freestyle relay team which finished first with a time of 1:55.75.

Sophomore Marian Wu (Flushing, NY/Stuyvesant) had a career best in the 100-yard freestyle, tapping the wall at 1:01.88 for first place and also had a season best time of 28:45 for a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.

Competing in the 500-yard freestyle for the first time in her career, junior Kimberly Happich (Lindenhurst, NY/St. John the Baptist) looked impressive, taking first place with a time of 6:42.33.

Hunter (5-8) will now head to Danbury, Connecticut on Friday for a dual meet with Western Connecticut State which is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
