The Hawks got the game off to a quick start by opening up an early 5-0 lead, but NJCU would stay within striking distance and would close the gap. Kim Hirten closed out the set by slamming home a kill for the 25th point and the first set win.

As the second half got underway, Rodesha Donaldson got the Hawks on the board first with the set's first kill. Hunter would go on a 10-4 run to put the Gothic Knights in a 22-12 hole in which they would not recover as they took the second set.

In the third and final set, the Hawks jumped out to an early 12-3 lead started on a service ace by Christine Chen. Hunter opened up a nine point lead and cruised the rest of the set to secure the win.
