Brooklyn, NY – Junior guard Rocco Rubino (Brooklyn, NY/Archbishop Molloy) shot an impressive 13-of-14 from the free throw line and was 50 percent from the field to score a team high 28 points and lead the Hawks to an 82-68 come from behind win over N.Y. City Tech Wednesday night at Klitgord Gymnasium in Brooklyn, NY.

The Yellow Jackets led the entire first half, scoring the game's first points on their first possession, and later extended their lead to ten points with 12:53 left in the half. Freshman guard Eric Klingsberg (Queens, NY/Holy Cross) would hit a three on the next possession to cut the lead to seven points, but City Tech answered back with a three from Bryson Greene to go back up by ten. Hunter then finished out the half strong, cutting the lead to the just one points, 35-34.

Then after tying the game twice in the opening minute of the second half, first-year center Peter Koutsolokas converted on a layup that gave the Hawks their first lead of the game, 39-37, with 18:02 on the clock. Hunter would then hold this lead for the remainder of the game, en route to a 14-point victory.

Klingsberg finished the game with 21 points after returning to the starting lineup for the first time in five games. Also returning to the starting lineup was junior guard Maxwell Dubois (Hollywood, FL/Dillard) who recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore guard Mark Courtien (Pelham, NY/Pelham Memorial) shot 5-of-8 from the field to scored 12 points in 27 minutes off the bench.

The Yellow Jackets got a big game out of Gabriel Davis who scored a game high 29 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Lewis Callendar was the only other City Tech player to finish in double figures, scoring 12 points, while Charles Fitzgerald grabbed a game high 17 rebounds.

The Hawks (9-13, 5-5 CUNYAC) return home on Friday when they are scheduled to face Lehman College (8-14, 5-5 CUNYAC) for their second and final meeting of the regular season at 7:00 p.m. at the Hunter Sportsplex.
