Women's Volleyball Blanks Delaware Valley

JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Hunter College women's volleyball team defeated Delaware Valley College in three sets to win their their second match of the day at the NJCU Tri-Match.

Hunter came out strong from the opening serve and controlled the tempo of the match, limiting the Aggies to a -.031 hitting percentage. Hunter slammed 33 kills and hit .239. The Hawks extended their current winning streak to eight matches, ending a three-match winning streak for DelVal which included 12 of their last.

Christine Luebcke hit .429 and floored 10 kills with only one error in 21 attacks while Lucia Stosic rejected six blocks and hit .385 with seven kills. Taylor Kordich hit .556 with five kills and no errors while adding six digs as Katina Boutis dished 18 assists and seven digs.
 
The Hawks trailed just once in the opening set, winning 25-12. The second set featured nine ties and six lead changes as Hunter outlasted DelVal 25-20. The Hawks never trailed in their 25-13 victory in the match finale.

Hunter (16-6, 7-0 CUNYAC) returns home to the Hunter Sportsplex to host the College of Staten Island this Tuesday night at 6:00pm. The match is the final conference match of the 2011 season.
