Hawks Upend Dolphins 3-0,
Remain Unbeaten in CUNYAC

The Hunter College women's volleyball team defeated the College of Staten Island 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-7) at the Hunter College Sportsplex Tuesday evening to remain unbeaten in the CUNY Athletic Conference.

With the win, the Hawks extend their current winning streak to nine games while improving to 17-6 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the CUNYAC. The Dolphins fall to 2-16 and 2-5 in conference play.

The Hawks dominated early and often, controlling play with 39 kills and a .301 hitting percentage. Lucia Stosic tied her career-high in kills, recording 10 to lead the Hawks with a .615 hitting percentage. Hunter finished the night with 35 assists, led by Katina Boutis who registered 22. The Hawks managed 13 service aces in the match, limiting the Dolphins to just one as Camille Newkirk paced the squad with five.

The Dolphins managed just eight kills, a -.167 hitting percentage and eight assists in today's three-set match. Pola Poskrobko led CSI with three kills while Gabrielle Bradshaw added four assists.

The Hawks return to action this Saturday, October 22nd when they travel to Montclair, NJ for a tri-match. Hunter will face the College of Saint Elizabeth at 1 pm before taking on the host, Montclair State University at 3pm.
