NEW YORK, NY- On October 24^th, the women's swimming and diving team opened their campaign for the 2011-2012 season with a dual meet against the College of Staten Island.  The Hawks won eight of the 11 contested events, downing the Dolphins with a score of 55-31 to claim the first win of the season.

The 200 Yard Medley Relay team, consisting of sophomores Juliette Collazo and Katherine Salinas, and freshmen Chryzl Goco and Courtney McEvoy Lee got things started for the Hawks as they placed first with a time of 2:20.73. 

Freshman Ivanna Tellez won her first collegiate event, taking first place in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 13:03.03 while veteran junior Briana DiGiore won the 200 Yard Freestlye with a time of 2:19.73. Wu claimed first place in the 200 IM doing so in 2:43.07. Goco won the 100 Yard Butterfly in 1:12.25. 

Sophomore standout Jennifer Dzurita won the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:11.21 with senior Marian Wu finishing right behind her with a time of 1:11.95.

The Hawks are back in the pool on November 1^st, where they host FDU-Florham at 6:00pm in the North Pool.
