NEW YORK, NY - The Hunter College women's volleyball team was outlasted by Ithaca College in a five set marathon.
After the Bombers won the first set 25-22, the Hawks came right back to take the lead with 25-21 and 25-22 victories in the second and third sets. Ithaca won the fourth set 25-23, then controlled the deciding match 15-9.
Jaclyn Hadfield recorded 21 kills, and Christine Luebcke slammed home 19 kills on .425 hitting as well as recording 11 digs. Katina Boutis tallied 52 assists and Kim Hirten added 17 digs.
Hunter (19-10) will be back in action on Tuesday, November 1st at 6:00pm in the Hunter Sportsplex, when they host John Jay College in the Quarterfinal Round of the 2011 CUNYAC / Con Edison Women's Volleyball Championship.
