WILLIAMSPORT, PA. – The Hunter College men's basketball team was defeated by Adrian College, 77-51 in the opening game of the Lycoming Tip-Off Classic at Lamade Gym on Friday evening.

The Hawks were led by Mark Courtien who finished the day with 12 points and four boards. Panagiotis Koutsoloukas added 10 points and six rebounds while Mark Wnukowski contributed 10 points and hauled in four boards as well.

Adrian led 48-25 at the break following a run in which they led by as many as 27 points. However, the Hawks chipped it down to 23 thanks to a three-pointer from Joel Cerda, a pair of free throws from Courtien and a layup by Daniel Sokolovsky. In the first six minutes of the second half, the Hawks cut the lead down to 16 points but no closer as the Bulldogs' offense proved too much to contain.

Hunter's loss was compounded by a poor day of shooting as the Hawks went 38% (19-50) from the field and was just 25% (3-12) from three-point range in tonight's loss. 

Hunter returns to the court on Saturday, November 19th when they take on tournament host Lycoming College at 4pm.
