Women's Volleyball Sweeps John Jay
To Win Sixth Straight

NEW YORK, NY - The Hunter College women's volleyball team swept John Jay College to win their sixth straight match and remain undefeated in CUNY Athletic Conference play.

13 Hawks saw action in the match as both the offensive and defensive efforts were spread evenly. Mallory Grubler and Christine Luebcke each had six kills, as the Hawks hit .333 for the match. Katina Boutis, reigning CUNYAC/Emblem Health Women's Volleyball Player of the Week had 19 assists, as Mia Alexis De Claro added nine more. On defense, Alisa Jaganjac had nine digs, Kim Hirten eight, and Luebcke added seven.

Hunter won the first set 25-4 on .520 hitting, took the second set 25-5 on .421 hitting and won the final set 25-15, holding the Bloodhounds to negative hitting for the match. 

Hunter (7-3, 4-0 CUNYAC) heads downtown to compete in the NYU Violet Classic this Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Hawks will face host NYU at 4:00pm and Gettysburg College at 6:00pm. On Saturday, Hunter will face the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey at 10:00am, followed by a match against Eastern University at 12:00pm.
