Women's Tennis Blanks John Jay

NEW YORK, NY - On Friday, October 12th the women's tennis team played the Bloodhounds of John Jay in their final conference match of the season.  The women swept John Jay, 6-0.  With the win, the Hawks improve to 9-3, 7-1 CUNYAC while the Bloodhounds drop to 1-10, 1-5 CUNYAC.

The Hawks swept doubles easily, with juniors Jane Selegean and Shena Joseph pairing up for first doubles winning 8-1.  The tandem team of sophomore Gina Yeo and freshman sarah Beck bageled third doubles with a score of 8-0.

In singles play, Selegean beat John Jay's Ashley Marrero 6-3, 6-1 in the first slot while Joseph won her second singles match 6-3, 6-3.

The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday, October 17th when they compete in the CUNYAC Tournament as the first seed.  Their opponent is to be determined after today.
