NEW PALTZ, NY - The New Paltz women's tennis team prevailed in dominant fashion, defeating Hunter, 9-0 on Friday afternoon at the North Tennis Courts.
The Hawks fall to 10-6 on the season while New Paltz improves to 13-8.
Despite the loss, several Hawks played well.
Jane Selegean and
Jennifer Kraham put up the toughest fight at first dobules before falling to Montana Wilson and Paige Munroe, 8-4. The New Paltz Hawks would take the second and third doubles matches by identical scores of 8-0.
In first singles, Selegean managed to win four games against Wilson, despite dropping both sets, 6-2. Kraham also won three games despite being knocked off by Kayla DiPaulo, 6-2 and 6-1 at second singles.
Stephanie Ahwireng won three matches as well in the third singles position (6-3, 6-0) while
Caroline Kaleda won a trio of games in the fourth singles slot (6-2, 6-1).
Hunter will host ASA next Thursday, April 26 at 3pm in a match to be played at the USTA National Tennis Center.
