RUTGERS, NJ - On Sunday, December 30th the men's basketball team traveled to New Jersey to compete against the Scarlet Raiders in a non-conference match-up. After falling behind by 19 at half time, the Hawks were unable to fight off their foes, ultimately falling 82-50. With the loss, the Hawks drop to 4-7, 1-3 CUNYAC while Rutgers-Newark improves to 8-3, 4-2 NJAC.
The Hawks were paced by freshman
Lester Anim, who netted 13 points and 3 rebounds, going 4-9 on the floor. Freshman
Ben Mayell had 10 points and three steals, going 6-6 from the arc. Junior
Lorenzo Brown chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds while Peter Koutsolokous added six points, going 3-5 from the floor.
Rutgers-Newark was led by Fateen Belfield, who barely missed a double-double having 16 points and nine rebounds.
The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday, January 2nd, when they travel to Madison, NJ to take on FDU-Florham. The game is slated for a 6pm start.
