NEWARK, NJ - On Sunday, December 30th the women's basketball team traveled to Rutgers-Newark to compete in a non-conference game. After falling behind early on in the first half, the Scarlet Raiders never looked back and downed the Hawks 77-63. With the loss, the women drop to 2-7, 2-2 CUNYAC while Rutgers-Newark improves to 7-4, 4-2 NJAC.
Sophomore Dimitra Krissi Thompoulos led the Hawks with 18 points, nine rebounds, going 5-7 on the floor. Junior
Nicole Lenard totaled 11 points while junior Kristen Sells had nine points three rebounds.
Hunter never got closer than 10 points in the second half before the Raiders pulled away to lead by as many as 22.
The Scarlet Raiders were led by Jewell Palmer who had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.
The Hawks are back on the court on Wendesday, January 2nd when they compete away against Ramapo College. The game is slated for a 5:30pm start.
