New York, N.Y - The men's basketball team defeated the Maccabees of Yeshiva University, 63-49 on Monday, November 19th. With the win, the Hawks improve to 2-1 while the Maccabees fall to 0-1.

The Hawks were led by standout senior Frankie Drayton, who netted a game-high of 28 points to go along with nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and six steals. Chris Garcia followed with 14 points, four rebounds and two steals while Brian Kruger scored nine points.

The Maccabees were led by Benjy Ritholtz who scored 15 points.

The Hawks kept a steady lead for most of the first half, taking a lead as large as eight with six minutes remaining. Yeshiva then went on an outstanding 13-0 run to take a 28-23 lead with a minute to go before half time. Hunter was able to score five points before the buzzer to go into the locker rooms with a 28-28 score.

Both teams teetered back and forth early in the second half, but the strong Hawks went on a 12-4 run to pull ahead 48-40 with just nine minutes remaining. Hunter was able to keep their lead as they closed the game out 63-49

The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday, November 20th when they host Rutgers-Newark.
