Men's Basketball Struggles Against John Jay

New York, N.Y. - The Hunter Hawks fell to CUNY rival John Jay College 87-83 on Friday night, snapping a 3 game winning streak.The Hawks (5-5) were led by CUNYAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week Frankie Drayton, who poured in a game-high 33 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Brian Kruger continued his torrid 3-point shooting, scoring 22 points on 5-of-12 from beyond the arc. Eric Kippins chipped in with 11 points.
The Bloodhounds (3-4) were led by Kris Owens's 20 points as well as Darryl Dennis's 19 points and game-high eight steals. The Bloodhounds forced 25 Hawks turnovers and shot an even 50% from the field.

The Hawks shot almost 53% from the field and over 80% from the free throw line but the turnovers were their undoing.

The Hawks return to action Thursday January 2nd when they take on Fairleigh Dickenson-College at Florham at the Hunter College Sportsplex. Tip-off is at 6pm.
