New York, N.Y. - The Hunter Hawks won their third consecutive game
Friday night by defeating CUNY rival John Jay College 87-66 at the Hunter College Sportsplex.
The Hawks (5-6) were led by three players who scored in double figures. Senior
Kristen Markoe scored a team-high 26 points, on 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point land. Senior
Nicole Lenard chipped in with 17 points and senior
Kristin Sells added 12 points. Sophomore
Ayanna Hudson had a season-high of 18 rebounds, her 4
th straight game with that achievement.
The Bloodhounds (3-6) were led by Tyana Hale who scored a game-high 28 points and five rebounds. Josephine Diaz scored 12 points and Jamecia Forsythe had five points, 11 rebounds and six assists.
The Hawks led the game 45-44 at halftime but the team forced 14 2
nd half turnovers and held the Bloodhounds to 40% shooting from 3-point land after giving up 62% in the 1
st half.
The Hawks next game is Tuesday January 7
th when they take on the NYU Violets in the Martin Luther King Award game. Tip-off is
5pm.
