Drayton Nets 33 in Hawks Loss to Valiants

Purchase, N.Y – The men's basketball team went into overtime for the second time this season against the Valiants of Manhattanville, but it was the Valiants who came out victorious taking the win 63-58. With the loss, the Hawks drop to 2-4 while Manhattanville improves to 3-4.

The Hawks were led by senior standout Frankie Drayton, who scored an impressive game-high of 33 points. Drayton proved his worth by scoring 16 out of the Hawks final 18 points of regulation.  Eric Kippins followed with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds while also adding five blocks.

With the scored tied at 54-54 with less than two minutes left in regular play, both teams were plagued with turnovers and missed shots forcing the game into overtime. The Valiants started connecting on more shots in overtime, making three of their seven shots.  Drayton and Kippins were the only Hawks to score in overtime combining for the Hawks only four points in OT.

The Hawks look to rebound this Friday, December 6th when they play Lehman College at Homecoming.
