Bronx, N.Y - The men's basketball teamed grabbed their first CUNYAC win of the season, defeating the Lightning of Lehman 73-63 on Wednesday night. With the win, the Hawks improve to 3-4, 1-1 CUNYAC while the Lightning drop to 3-3, 1-1 CUNYAC.Â
The Hawks were led once again by senior standout
Frankie Drayton, who scored a game high of 25 points while adding five assists and four steals.
Jerrell Antley followed with 15 points and five assists while
Eric Kippins added 10 points and seven rebounds.
Bryan Silvera snagged 10 rebounds and netted eight points.
The Hawks trailed by seven points with 11:07 left in the first half, but Hunter went on a 10-0 run to put them ahead 23-20 to secure the lead for the entirety of the game.Â
The Hawks came back from the locker in the second half and dominated the court, leading by 20 points after a good three pointer from Antley with seven minutes remaining. The Lightning tried to close the gap using their defense, but the Hawks lead was too great and they were able to walk away with the victory.Â
The Hawks are back in action on Friday, December 6th when they play St. Joseph's Brooklyn at Homecoming.Â
