New York, NY – Hunter's
Stephanie Taibe tied a game-high with 11 kills while aiding defensively with 10 digs, but the Hawks fell 0-3 (28-30, 22-25, 14-25) to the College of Brockport on Saturday, August 31
st at the NYU Labor Day invitational.
In the opening set, the score tied eight times and the lead changed four times. Hunter and Brockport had 14 kills each led by
Stephanie Taibe's set-high six kills. Brockport won 30-28 in a close scoring set.
In the second set, Hunter forced 10 Brockport errors but was unable to attack offensively with only nine kills. The Hawks fell 25-22 to the Golden Eagles. Hunter's offense had seven kills in the third set to Brockport's 11. With eight errors Hunter went down in straight-sets 25-14.
The Hawks racked up 48 digs with
Alisa Jaganjac leading the way with a team-high 13.
Taylor Kordich had 12 while
Stephanie Taibe added 10 digs. Taibe paced the Hawks with 11 kills and assisted on two blocks.
Samantha Barrett netted two solo blocks with five kills and
Lucia Stosic assisted on two blocks and had four kills. Hunter's
Kristine Ciurcina recorded 24 assists with 12 coming in the first set.
Hunter drops to 1-2 after competing in the NYU Labor Day Invitational. The Hawks head to Teaneck, NJ on Wednesday, September 4
