Men's Basketball Defeats FDU

New York, N.Y. – The Hunter Hawks men's basketball team defeated the Fairleigh Dickenson University-Florham Devils 82-75 Monday night at the Hunter Sportsplex.

Brian Kruger shot 5-of-6 from 3-point land on his way to a game-high 29 points to lead the Hawks (7-7, 3-3). Lester Anim chipped in with 13 points and 11 rebounds, his 2nd straight double-double and Chris Garcia scored 10.

The Devils (6-6) were led John Flete's 24 points and Kevin Furlong's 20 points.

For the game the Hawks shot 51.9% from the field and a staggering 72.7% from 3-point land. The Hawks never trailed by more than one point and took an 11 point lead with just over 5 minutes remaining. The Devils fought back to cut the lead to four with 1:32 to go. The Hawks would make 6-of-8 free throws down the stretch to secure the victory. 

The Hawks return to action Wednesday, January 15th when they travel to Brooklyn to take on CUNY rival Brooklyn College. Tip-off is 7pm.
