Hawks Back On Track With Win Over Lehman

New York, N.Y. – The Hunter Hawks men's basketball team defeated Lehman College 79-64 on Friday night, snapping a three game losing streak.

Frankie Drayton led the way with 25 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Lester Anim scored 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including 2-of-3 from 3-point land. Brian Kruger chipped in with 17 points, going 4-of-8 from long range.

After falling behind 20-19 with 9:20 left in the 1st half, the Hawks started to roll on both ends, going on a 21-6 run to take a 40-26 lead with 1:38 to go. The Lightning would score the last four points of the half to cut the Hawks halftime lead to 10.

The Hawks (8-10, 4-6 CUNYAC) played the 2nd half with the same offensive efficiency they ended the 1st half with, shooting 11-of-17 from the field (64.7%) and hitting 4-of-6 from 3-point land (66.7%). The lead would swell to as big as 17.

Jerrome Jones led the Lightning (10-8, 5-5 CUNYAC) with 23 points and six rebounds. Kelvin Gil added 10 points.  

The Hawks return to action Wednesday January 29th when the travel to John Jay to take on the Bloodhounds. Game-time is 7pm.
