Staten Island, N.Y – The men's basketball team couldn't stave off the strong CSI Dolphins Tuesday night, dropping the game 82-88. With the loss, the Hawks fall to 10-12, 6-8 CUNYAC, while the Dolphins improve to 21-2, 14-0 CUNYAC.
The two teams battled it out, proving eight ties and seven lead changes in the first half. The Hawks led for most of the first half thanks to back to back three-pointers by
Brian Kruger and
Frankie Drayton, and a a jumper by
Bryan Silvera that gave the Hawks a 16-9 lead. CSI would not go down quietly as they started to rally, and gave themselves a comfortable seven point lead at the half. The Hawks were not able to regain their lead in the second half, with the Dolphins taking the game by six points.
Kruger led the Hawks with 21 points while Drayton scored 20.
Eric Kippins added 14 points while
Lester Anim chipped in with eight.
The Hawks are back in action on February 14
th when they compete against Medgar Evers.
