Staten Island, N.Y – The women's basketball team defeated the Dolphins of CSI in dramatic fashion on Tuesday night, 79-76. With the win, the Hawks improve to 11-12, 8-6 CUNYAC while the Dolphins drop to 18-5, 13-2 CUNYAC.

In the first half, the Hawks steadily increased their lead little by little, eventually grabbing an eight point lead at the half thanks to a three-pointer from Nicole Lenard assisted by Kristen Markoe. Hunter was able to keep that lead until the five minute mark in the second half, when CSI took a one point lead. The Hawks answered back with a 7-2 run of their own, allowing them to get the victory.

Lenard led the Hawks with 24 points and six assists, while Markoe had a double-double of 22 points and 11 baords. Racquel Baudanza chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.

The Hawks are back in action on Friday, February 14^th when they take on Medgar Evers.
