Hawks Upended by Cardinals

Jamaica, N.Y – The men's basketball team dropped their final regular season game on Tuesday night to York College, 67-106. With the loss, the Hawks drop to 11-13, 7-9 CUNYAC while the Cardinals improve to 18-7, 13-3 CUNYAC.

Hunter fell behind early on, with the Cardinals taking a commanding 12 point lead with nine minutes remaining in the first half. York was able to continue to increase that lead, going into the locker rooms 18 points ahead, 45-27. The second half proved no better for the Hawks as York continued to grow on their lead.

The Hawks were led by Taulant Ibraj who scored 17 points, while Terrhon Vaughn scored 13 points and grabbed five boards. Andreas Arrietta netted 10 points and four boards.

York was led by Michael Woods who scored 46 points, proving himself as the leading scorer in CUNYAC.

The men's team will be back on the court on February 22nd when they compete in the CUNYAC Quarter-Finals.
