Hawks Tame Bulldogs; Advance to CUNYAC Semi-Finals

BOX SCORE

Brooklyn, N.Y – The #5 seeded men's basketball team defeated the #4 seeded Bulldogs of Brooklyn College on Saturday afternoon, 90-80 to advance to the CUNYAC Semi-Finals for the first time since 2011.

The Hawks took a commanding lead early on, using an 11-0 run to go up 12-5 at the 15 minute mark. Hunter continued to connect on shots, going on another 11-0 run to go up 23-7, eventually going up 40-29 at the end of the first half.

Hunter came out of the locker room strong, with Brian Kruger hitting a three pointer with 14 minutes remaining to give the Hawks a dominating 53-35 lead.  Brooklyn attempted to close the gap but Hunter's lead was too great, and the Hawks were able to walk away with the victory.

First-team all-star Frankie Drayton led the Hawks with 25 points, six assists, and five boards. Jerrell Antley chipped in with 18 points of his own, while Lester Anim netted 16 points and six rebounds.  Brian Kruger scored 13 points, while Robert Borusiewicz had the Hawks only double-double of the game with 11 boards and 12 points.

The Hawks will now play the winner of #1 seeded CSI and #8 seeded CCNY.
