Hawks Defeat Brooklyn For 4th Straight Win

BROOKLYN, NY – The Hunter women's volleyball team won their 4th consecutive game on Thursday night defeating Brooklyn College 3-0. The Hawks and Bulldogs battled in all three sets, but the Hawks earned the sweep winning the first set 26-24, the second 25-23 and the third 25-20.

The Hawks played an excellent game on all fronts. CUNYAC Rookie of the Week Julia Connolly once again led the Hawks at the net smacking home a game-high eight kills. Angelica Aquino was also stellar at the net smashing six assists. CUNYAC Player of the Week Lucia Stosic was outstanding on the defensive end, contributing four solo blocks.

Taylor Kordich and Kristine Ciurcina once again had great games setting up their teammates. Kordich led the Hawks with 11 assists and Ciurcina chipped in with 10.

The Hawks now are 7-7 overall and 4-0 in CUNYAC play. They return to action Saturday when they travel to Farleigh Dickenson University to take part in the FDU-Florham Quad Match. Their scheduled opponents are Mt. Aloysius, FDU-Florham and Ramapo College.
