BOX SCORE RIVERDALE, NY - The Hunter men's basketball team defeated John Jay, 69-60 on Friday afternoon to improve their record to 5-6 overall and even their CUNYAC record at 2-2. 

Lester Anim recoreded a double-double of 23 ponts and 12 rebounds to lead the Hawks in both categories. Jerrell Antley was outstanding as well scoring 20 points while grabbing nine rebounds. 

A close game thoughout much of the first half with neither team able to take more than a three point lead until the Hawks went on an 8-2 run to close out the half. Anim poured in 16 of his 23 in the first half leading the Hawks to a 27-18 lead at the half.

The second half was the Jerrell Antley show as he took over, scoring 18 points in the final 20 minutes. The Hawks continuted to buld on their half time lead increasing it to 10 points early in the half but the Bloodhounds would continue to chip away getting as close as two points twice before tying the game with 2:18 to go.

The tie would not last as Brian Kruger nailed back-to-back three pointers to increase the lead to six points and the Hawks would make eight-of-eight from the free throw line to secure the 69-60 win.

The Hawks return to action Tuesday January 6 as they host Medgar Evers College in a CUNYAC matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
