Queens, NY - The #3 seeded Hawks defeated the #6 Bloodhounds of John Jay in the quarterfinal round of the CUNYAC/HSS Women's Tennis Championship. The 5-3 win moves the Hawks to 5-6 overall and into the semifinal round where they will face #2 CSI tomorrow.

The Hawks took a 2-1 lead after the doubles portion of the match with the duo of Angelina Usherenko and Sara Beck earning the victory second doubles, 8-6 and Catherine Ng and Pauline McGlone taking the second victory, 8-1.

Funk took care of business at top fligh singles, 6-2, 6-4 while Beck and Ng each earned 6-0, 6-0 wins to reach the necessary five-point mark first. The Hawks will now take on #2 CSI on Saturday, 10/24 at 2:30 on the campus of the College of Staten Island.
