The Purple and Gold conclude the season at 7-10

Box Score

Brooklyn, NY -
The #6 upset minded Hawks squared off against the #3 Beavers of CCNY in the CUNYAC/Brine Men's Soccer Championship Tournament earlier this afternoon. Knotted at 0-0 through the first, a successfully converted penalty kick by the Beavers proved to be just enough as the Hawks were unable to mount a comeback and repeat last year's upset. The loss puts a cap on the Purple and Gold's season as they close out the year with a 7-10 overall record.

Despite a one-sided stat sheet that has Hunter favored 18 shots to their counterpart's eight, and four corners compared to CCNY's two, it took just one kick for the home team to put the nail in the coffin. In the 55th minute, Anthony Scarallo was fouled inside the box resulting in a penalty kick. He hit his mark in the bottom left corner past Hunter keeper, Garrett Babbitt, to put the Beavers up 1-0.

Of Hunter's 18 shots, five were on goal including strikes from Mostafa Mosbah, Bryan Suertegaray, Carlos Aspiazu, Aiden Tucker and Jacob Gorodetsky. Within the last five minutes, the Hawk's offense put the pressure on their counterpart's defense, launching four shots but were unable to hit their mark.

Babbitt made three saves in the loss while Maxwell Berkow made five stops for CCNY.
