New York, NY - The Hunter College women's volleyball team will face Christopher Newport in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament. The regional round will be hosted by Richard Stockton College in Galloway, NJ. Hunter will take to the court on Friday, November 13 at 3pm. It will be the second of four first round games that day.
The Purple and Gold secured their spot and punched their ticket to their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance after capturing the 2015 CUNYAC Conference Championship this past weekend by defeating Lehman in the semifinals and top-seeded Baruch in three sets. The Hawks boast an impressive 23-13 overall record whic marks their fourth 20+ win season in the last five years.
The squad is hoping to use their momentum to get over the first round hump and advance to the second day of competition. Currently, the Hawks are on a three game win streak and have won 10 out of their last 11 matches, outscoring opponents 30-10. During the 2014 NCAA Tournament, head coach
Val Lang and her team squared off against #16 Clarkson University but were bounced early after being defeated by a 3-0 score.

Julia Connolly earned Player of the Year and Tournament MVP honors.
