New York, NY - The City of New York Athletic Conference has released the the 2015-16 Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll to reveal Hunter slated in the #5 spot. The poll is conducted by the league's coaches. Baruch College and the College of Staten Island sit atop the preseason poll with 58 points apiece while Will Fonseca of CSI was tabbed as the Preseason Performer of the Year.
The 2015-16 men's basketball is under the tutelage of first year head coach John Pelin. The former NYU assistant coach takes the reigns of a Hunter team that went 9-17, 6-10 CUNYAC and made the conference quarterfinal round before falling to Lehman in a tightly contested 77-79 game.This year, the Hawks will rely on the leadership of Brian Kruger and Robert Borusiewicz. Kruger is the Hawk's returning high scorer, averaging 13.8 ppg last season while Borusiewicz averaged 9.0 ppg and 7.3 rebounds/game before sitting out from an injury. The Purple and Gold return eight and welcome six to the roster this year."We had a great preseason and have a good mix of new and returning players. We have high expectations for this season and we are looking forward to getting started."The Hawks kick off their season on Friday, November 13 when they take on St. Joseph's College of Maine.
