Madison, NJ - The Hawks took on three teams at the Drew Fall Classic on Saturday, November 7 and came away with one win to push their overall record out to 1-2 on the season. The Purple and Gold fell to host Drew 20-7 and CCNY 16-11 while earning a 16-9 victory over Lafayette.
The Foil team earned three wins against Drew, six against CCNY and four against Lafayette.
Jessica Hall and
Yaeli Lora each won four bouts while
Yiman Chen won five.
The Sabre squad consisted of
Tasnim Halim and
Alexandra Shapiro. The duo combined for 10 wins with Shapiro earning six of them. Rounding out the day, the epee squad won 11 bouts between
Lai Chung,
Norine Chan and
Oralia Navarrete. Chung earned six bout wins while
Norine Chan earned four.
Oralia Navarrete had two wins credited to her name.
The women's fencing team returns to action on Sunday, Novembe 15 when they head up to Poughkeepsie, NY to compete in the Vassar Invitational.
