BOX SCORE NEW YORK, NY - The Hunter men's basketball team lost 85-71 on Friday night to Brooklyn College, dropping the Hawks record to 8-14 overall and 5-9 in CUNYAC play.
The first half began with the Bulldogs riding tremendous three-point shooting as they jumped out to a 13 point lead after Steven Diaz hit the Bulldogs seventh three of the half to take a 33-20 lead with just over four minutes remaining in the half.
The Hawks wouldn't go away as they would close the half on a 12-5 run to go into halftime only trailing 38-32.
Leading the Hawks comeback were the Hawks seniors
Jerrell Antley and
Eric Kippins who each scored four points in the final four minutes to cut the Bulldogs lead.
The Bulldogs started the second half much like the first increasing their lead back to double-digits less than five minutes into the half. The Bulldogs forced 12 Hawk turnovers in the second half which led to 13 fast break points.
The Hakws had four players in double figures, led by Antley's 13 points and five assists, Kippins scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Lester Anim had 11 points and seven rebounds while
Matt Franks scored 11 for the Hawks.
Gerard Carty was excellent for the Hawks going for nine points and six assists.
The Hawks return to action Tuesday February 10 when they will take on Lehman College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5pm.
