Flushing, NY - Hunter College women's tennis got their first win of the season on Sunday, defeating St. Joseph's of Brooklyn with a score of 7-2.
Maria Kogarova started off singles competition by getting a win at the no. 1 court, defeating her St. Joseph's opponent with a score 10-7.
Catherine Ng continued to the streak by earning a win at no. 2 singles.
Mehriniso Khaydarova got the 6-2, 6-4 decision at no. 4 singles, while
Daniela Yakobashvili rounded out the singles wins for Hunter at the no. 5 court.
The Hawks then swept doubles competition as Kogarova and
Angelica Rozenfeld got the 8-4 victory over the Bears at no. 1 doubles. Ng and Mehriniso continued their success with an 8-2 decision and
Tabitha Doris and
Nataliya Pavlishyn rounded out the day with an 8-6 win.Â
The Hawks will return to action on Wednesday, September 28 when they travel to Brooklyn College.Â
