BOX SCORE New York, NY - Hunter College men's basketball dropped a conference game to John Jay College on Friday night with a score of 84-74 to hold a 5-5 CUNYAC record this season.
The team trailed by as many as 20 points in the first half and cut the deficit to five with 11:20 to play in regulation, but could not get over the hump as they eventually fell by ten.
The Bloodhounds got out of the gates quick, hitting four three-pointers in the first eight minutes of the first half. The Hawks could not control John Jay's hot shooting as they went into the locker room at halftime trailing 41-33.

Mamadou Sakho hit a layup to spark a Hunter run as the team outscored John Jay 11-4 off shots from
Matt Franks,
Danny Fusco and
Gio Gabbidon to trail by just five points. From there the Bloodhounds took back control of the game, going on a 13-3 run and eventually getting the victory.
Franks led the Hawks with 20 points, shooting 9-13 from the floor while Fusco and Gabbidon each netted 16 points. The team shot a decent 46.6 field goal percentage in the loss.Â
The Hawks return to action on Monday, January 23 when they travel to Maritime College for a 7 p.m. game.
