BOX SCORE 2 Annandale-On-Hudson, N.Y. - Hunter College women's volleyball continued a historic season on Saturday by winning their ninth-straight match, going 2-0 at the tri-match that featured opponents from SUNY New Paltz and Bard College.
The Hawks are now 20-3 overall this seson and remain 6-0 in CUNYAC play.
Hunter 3, New Paltz 1
The Hawks defeated the New Paltz to start the tri-match by taking the first set, 25-21, falling in the second set 25-13 and then winning the third and fourth with scores of 25-23 and 29-27.
Four players recorded double-figure kills in the victory as
Taylor Haiduk led the way with 14 and also a team-high 20 digs.
Marlena Budna and
Julia Connolly each added 11 kills as
Emily Wasson chipped in ten for the Hawks.
Miranda Hogan paced the offense with 41 assists.
On the defensive side, Hogan recorded 15 digs, while
Haley Trunkett added 12 and Connolly had 11.
Kendra Moore led the Purple and Gold with eight blocks as Wasson and Budna tallied five blocks each. Â
Hunter 3, Bard 0
The Purple and Gold ended the day with the sweep of Bard, featuring scores of 26-24, 25-13 and 25-16. The Hawks held the Raptors to a -.018 hitting percentage.Â
Wasson highlighted Hunter's offense with nine kills and a .421 hitting percentage. Connolly added eight as Hogan registered 29 assists and 12 digs in the win.Â
The squad returns to action on October 17 when they travel to the College of Mount Saint Vincent for a 7 p.m. match.
