Staten Island, NY - Hunter College softball finished up the 2017 season on Sunday by becoming the CUNYAC Championship Runner Ups after being defeated by #1 College of Staten Island.
The Hawks finish the season 15-16 and second in in the conference with a 10-2 CUNYAC recod.
The Purple and Gold started the day with a rematch against #3 seeded Lehman College, where the Hawks got a 3-1 win to advance to the finals.
Taylor Crofts and
Stefanie Abolt both got two hits in the win as pitcher
Caroline Bibula held off the Lightning.
The team then faced the Dolphins later in the day, falling to the eventual champions with a score of 5-0. The Hawks kept it close, recording six hits to Staten Island's nine, but could not close it out in the seventh inning with bases loaded.
