Brooklyn, N.Y. - Hunter College men's basketball took a loss at Brooklyn College on Friday night, falling to the Bulldogs with a close score of 70-64.
The Hawks are now 5-4 in CUNYAC play, while the Bulldogs improved to 4-5 in the conference.
Down by five points going into the second half, the Purple and Gold scored a quick six-straight points in the first three minutes to trail by just one. At the 12:40 minute mark
Mamadou Sakho hit a three to tie the score at 43, and then
Danny Fusco sunk back-to-back shots to give Hunter the lead.
With eight minutes on the clock the Bulldogs tied up the score again and then took the lead, but the Hawks did not back down, trailing by just one point with 3 minutes to play off a layup from
George Keener.
Hunter did their best to stick around, but the Bulldogs pulled out the win the remaining seconds, 70-64.
Keener led the squad with 21 points, posting nine field goals in the loss. He was followed by
Matt Franks' 11 points as the team shot 50.0 percent from the field.
The team returns to action on January 22 when they travel to John Jay College.
